Las Vegas’ “Venetian” Gondolas Are Far From Authentic
Las Vegas, Nevada, is packed with tourist traps, each designed to grab attention—and empty wallets. From extravagant hotels to flashy casinos, the city thrives on spectacle. One attraction often promoted in travel guides is the gondola rides, meant to evoke the charm of Venice. However, these Vegas versions are so far removed from their inspiration that they border on parody.
Lasting an average of five minutes, the ride offers little more than a slow drift past storefronts and wandering gamblers. The water is nothing more than heavily chlorinated pool water, and the steep price tag tries to sell an illusion of luxury that simply isn’t there.
